Danville Lady Ironmen soccer booster
Meeting minutes
Monday August 13 at 6 pm--- Danville High School

Old/Unresolved business:

Sport bags for girls—Mike Jones will check with Schuylkill Valley sports regarding styles and prices.  We will need to purchase these soon for the new girls.  The boosters will provide the bags.  (these have now been ordered—Purple Nike bags with orange writing similar to the ones that we already have.  They should be ready prior to the first game.)

New uniforms  were purchased by the athletic department. These are Orange Adidas away uniforms (the socks are included)

Stadium Games:  Michael Carr reported on our meeting with Mr. Kanaskie.  AS  a result of this meeting, the number of stadium games has been increased from one to five.  Which means that 5 of 7 home games will be played in the stadium.  We learned from Mr. Kanaskie that there is a limited number of  “compressions” allowed per year on the stadium field so that the field condition is not compromised.  Included in these allowable numbers are uses by the varsity and JV as well as freshman football teams, boys soccer, band practices and girls soccer.

As a result of this meeting, we settled on dates for youth night, which will be 9/29 and senior night, which will be 10/16 with a back-up rain date of 10/20 (although, according to the schedule, this game date might be changed)

NEW BUSINESS:

Mr Kanaskie had advised us to pursue a small games of chance license.  I have  checked into this and the license is available on a month to month basis for $10.00 per month—so we will purchase it for the months of September and October only.

Barbara Dennen has resigned as Treasurer, since her daughter is no longer playing soccer, Donna Brua has offered to take the position back and finish out the year for us.

Barb D was also in charge of  fruit for practices, this responsibility will be shared by several people, including Ann Kay, Spring Santos, Denise Karnes (Rita’s), Linda Paugh and PJ Taylor.

Pasta dinners:  selected dates are:  September 11 as a picnic at the soccer complex, rain date, September 18.  October 3 and 10th in HS cafeteria immediately after practice.  Denise will be in touch with everyone to sign up for food.

Ball Girls:  Ed Krajewski is coordinating, it was decided that each ball girl will be given a ticket/token to turn in at the snack bar for up to $3.00 worth of food per girl per game. They must turn in the ticket in exchange for food and it is to be used in one trip to the snack bar.  I will run off some tickets to give to them.

Game announcer:  Dave Pervola has volunteered.

Blanket sales:  Tina Kunselman has several left that she is willing to sell to us—We will likely purchase those, these are orange.  people have been asked to be on the lookout for reasonably priced fleece blankets in orange or purple that we could have embroidered to sell at home games.

Gifts for girls:  we have decided to give each girl one of the lanyards that we have purchased to sell as a fundraiser.  The girls were given order forms to sell the lanyards for $5.00 apeice.

Deb Baylor has stepped down as tee shirt coordinator since her daughter is no longer playing.  Staci Shepperson has offered to replace her.

50/50 ticket sales: Dave Cutright will take charge of this again this season.

We will sell the remaining lollipops at the concession stand, as well as lanyards.

Please email Linda or Kim with any ideas or agenda items for the next meeting.
