Minutes from Lady Ironmen booster meeting held February 19 at 7 pm at DHS

The meeting was opened with  a treasurers report, presented by Michael Carr. Ending balances for year end 2007 were checking:  1076.59 and savings 2681.55

OLD BUSINESS:

Summer camp, it was decided that the selection for training camp will be Bucknell which will be held the last week of July.  Please see a separate and previous mailing regarding details.  Camp is to be funded individually by families.  We did discuss that some or all girls might choose to do some fundraising to attempt to help defray the cost of camp.

We would encourage this and hope to discuss this further at the next meeting.

Other fundraising:  It had been discussed at an earlier meeting, the consideration of undertaking a basket/Vera Bradley  bingo as a means of funding some attire for the girls, such as warm ups.  We have decided to go ahead with this.  We are asking that families be active in their support of this by either donating towards the purchase of prizes or by donating one of these items or recruiting other individuals or businesses who will.  We would like to secure as many donations as possible in order to defray start up costs.  We would like to hold this at the Elks in Danville and will need the girls’ cooperation to assist at the bingo.

Jennifer Jones is willing to organize this.  Please bring ideas to the next meeting, in that we would like to organize one ASAP for this spring.

---we would like a volunteer to serve as fundraising chairperson-please consider serving in this capacity.  In the past we have not done a lot of fund raising, but would like to do some this year to be able to better serve the needs of our girls.

---Please bring ideas for fundraising to the next meeting.

Meeting with Athletic director:  Michael Carr and myself will set up a meeting within the next month to discuss various issues, we hope to do this before the next booster meeting.

We will request some input from the Shipes as to the uniform supply, so that we might discuss the possible need for more new uniforms for this season.

NEW BUSINESS

Some discussion was given as to the location of the senior banquet, and First Baptist church was mentioned as a possibility.  I will check with the banquet committee to see if a site has been chosen

The next meeting will be held Tuesday March 18 at 7 pm at the high school

Respectfully submitted,
